 Angelicum Academy Partnership Program

A PATH FOR HOME SCHOOLED STUDENTS TO EARN ASSOCIATE’S DEGREES:

Holy Apostles College & Seminary and the Ignatius-Angelicum Liberal Studies Program has designed a path for qualified home schooled students to earn Associate’s degrees (A.A.) at the completion of 12th grade, and a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) by age 19.

Holy Apostles’ Associate’s degrees require 60 credits. Students who begin the Ignatius-Angelicum Liberal Studies, four-year, Great Books Program in 9th grade (minimum age 14, and up), may transfer 45 credits completed from that four-year program to Holy Apostles College.

Holy Apostles allows home schoolers and 11th and 12th grade high school students (with a minimum 2.5 GPA) to take 15 (or more) credits online or on campus. Combined, this allows home school students to earn a total of 60 college credits by their completion of 12th grade. Such students may then enroll in the Holy Apostles Associate’s degree program that same month, and receive their A.A. degree in Liberal Arts at the Summer term graduation of the same year.

For more information regarding the Angelicum Academy Partnership Program, please visit the Angelicum Academy Webiste at: http://www.angelicum.net/degree-program/

To find out if you are eligible for this partnership program, please contact Mr. Pat Carmack at 410.282.6172 or email: info@angelicum.net.

To Apply:  Complete our online application for the Angelicum Academy Partnership Program “HERE”

In addition to the online application form, the following items are also required:

  • Official transcripts must be sent to Holy Apostles College from all high schools attended;
  • A typed essay from the student of approximately 500 words that provides a brief autobiography and the student’s reasons for choosing to study at Holy Apostles;

Holy Apostles Transfer Credits Policy

Holy Apostles accepts transfer credits from accredited colleges, and those that have been recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE CREDIT), for all degree and certificate programs, provided the credits are in courses applicable to the particular degree program being pursued at Holy Apostles. Acceptance of transfer credits is at the discretion of the Academic Dean.

The number of transfer credits accepted into each degree program is as follows:

  • Associate of Arts                                             30  (45 per an Articulation Agreement)
  • Bachelor of Arts                                              60
  • Master of Arts                                                   6
  • Non-Degree Graduate Certificate                 0
  • Post Master’s Certificate in Theology           6
  • Master of Divinity                                           60
  • Certificate of Preparation for Ordination  60

Transfer credits must not have already been applied to a degree, except in the case of credits assigned to an Associate’s degree being used toward the B.A. program at Holy Apostles.

Students transferring from the Adler-Aquinas Institute/Ignatius-Angelicum Liberal Studies Program/Angelicum Academy’s Great Books or Theology Online program may review the Normal Distribution of AAI Transfer Credits document onto which the Great Books and Theoloy Online courses have been mapped to see what additional coursework must be done for program completion.

Students intending to transfer credits must apply for Advanced Standing at the time of matriculation. Advanced Standing allows a student to enter Holy Apostles College as a first time student, while entering a program with a higher class status than first semester, first year, due to transferred credits. All official transcripts must be received by the Registrar by the time of matriculation for transfer credits to be considered.

To transfer credits from courses being taken at another academic institution simultaneously with one’s working through a program at Holy Apostles, the student must have the prior permission of the Academic Dean as concerns the selection of courses. Official transcripts must be sent to the Office of the Registrar as soon as the courses are completed.

It is the policy of Holy Apostles not to accept any undergraduate credits for transfer which carry a grade of less than a C- grade or any graduate credits carrying less than a B grade.
