Dr. Hermann Frieboes

Faculty

Dr. Hermann Frieboes, is an Adjunct Professor at Holy Apostles College & Seminary in Cromwell, CT.  Dr. Frieboes has a faculty appointment in Bioengineering at the University of Louisville, focusing on cancer research. His doctoral studies are in Biomedical Engineering, and he holds undergraduate degrees in engineering and the computer and physical sciences.  In addition, he has extensive work experience in engineering design, development and management.  For the past several years, Dr. Frieboes and his wife Laura have been involved in adult religious education, offering presentations and courses on various topics such as faith and reason, relationship between science and religion, development of science and the Church, ethics in business and the workplace, current medical issues, and bioethics.

  • Ph.D., Biomedical Engineering, University of California, Irvine.  Area of research: Mathematical modeling, computational simulation, and experimental study of cancer growth, vascularization, and treatment.
  • M.A., Moral Theology, summa cum laude, Holy Apostles College and Seminary, Connecticut, 2010.  Field of study: ethics in health care, medicine, and research.
  • National Catholic Certification Program in Health Care Ethics, National Catholic Bioethics Center, Philadelphia, USA, 2010.
  • M.S., Computer Engineering, University of California, Irvine.  Field of study: Algorithms, real-time embedded systems, and microprocessor architecture.
